Medikidz

Following a frustrating time in paediatric medicine two doctors came up with the idea of Medikidz – a multimedia health information system for sick children. Drs. Kate James and Kim Chilman-Blair felt unable to provide young patients with suitable information about their health. They felt there was a worldwide lack of useful material for young people around medicine.

The 'Medikidz' is a gang of five superheroes come from the planet Mediland - a planet shaped like a human body. This gang is used to explain medical concepts to tweens/teens (aged 9-16 years) in a fun and engaging way. They take each child on a journey of the human body (through Mediland), in order to explore and explain the mysteries of their illness. Each book, written by a doctor, is then re-written by a graphic novelist of Marvel Comics fame (he makes it interesting for kids). It is peer reviewed by a leading medical consultant; and over 40 professors and consultants now comprise the international medical advisory board.

The Medikidz publishers are pleased to donate to The Anthony Nolan Trust 5% of the recommended retail price (£5.99) for every time someone clicks through from our website by clicking here and buying a copy of What's up with Richard? Medikidz explain Leukaemia.
